Essential Travel Gear :: Camping Catalog

This extremely hip n' happening catalog, ahem, catalogue... hails from the UK and is the graphic creation of Neil Singleton. Neil's company is called We Are Soup and they created this catalog for Just Kampers. The photos of the sage green VW (not really sage if you ask me, but I guess that's the official VW color tag) are taken by Kim of Silverbox Photographers. Kim snapped these quintessential California coastal scenes while on vacation, errr... holiday, with her family. And yes, she rented this retro 70's guacamole green Volkswagen camper bus from us, the crew at Vintage Surfari Wagons!

You can order a copy of the catalog (for free) for yourself from the folks at Just Kampers. While you're there be sure to check out all the nifty goodies they offer to complete your camping experience.
P.S. Love, love, love the catalog Neil!

DeStefano Wedding

Hi Bill,

Bryant and I just wanted to thank you again for letting us borrow Albie during our wedding and honeymoon. It was definitely a creative alternative to a limo for the wedding and made for perfect lodging on our honeymoon up the coast. The pictures and stories are priceless!

Attached are a few photos.

Thanks Again,

Jessica and Bryant DeStefano

Cardarella Wedding

Hi Bill,

I hope all is well.

It was so fun to rent the VW for the weekend of our wedding and to have as our get away car. Definitely a hit with our friends and family from Ohio!

I felt right at home in that bus!

I have attached a few pictures... enjoy and take care!

Sincerely,

Corrine

Ruffles recommends renting a vintage camper for your bachelorette party :)

Ruffled writes...

I wanted to leave you with something fun for the weekend! I spotted these vintage VW campers over at one of my favorite blogs, Please sir, and I had to share with my vintage brides. Snail Trail is a company based out of London that rents vintage campers, trailers and even this adorable red Fiat 500 available for special occasions and photo shoots. The first thing that came to mind was how fun it would it be to rent one of these cuties for a bachelorette party? Though the caravans have quite literally a little more mileage than the VW campers and are mostly available for photoshoots only, the VW campers are perfect for road trips. Each camper has their own name and quirky personality, and seats 4-5 people.

In the United States, you can rent VW campers in California via here, in Washington via here, in Hawaii via here and here. If you know of more, please leave a comment a below!

While we, at Vintage Surfari Wagons, do not have vintage trailers to hire, yet... we do have a collection of restyled VW campers. A large number of our guests have rented our classic Vdubs for 'Save the Date' photo shoots, vintage wedding transport, honeymoon excursions and memory making anniversary trips!

Matthew & Jessi's Wedding

January 23, 2010

This van was the beautiful close to an extraordinary day. We were driven tonight in this van following our wedding. My husband's brother drove us, and from the exterior down to the sweet ostrich interior and exhaust sweeping over us all, it was a night never to forget. We loved it all! And the best part was sharing this experience with the help of our friend Neal, driving slowly from L.A. to Santa Barbara (Dos Pueblos Ranch) to get us. My parents would be proud: the VW Van lives on forever in our hearts... Thanks so much for giving us this memory VW Guy!

Rachel & Nick's Honeymoon :: Ireland :: San Francisco to LA via Big Sur Coast

Hi Bill,
Okay I ended up with over 500 photos but dont worry I'm not sending you through that many.
I figured you'd just want to see ones that were bus relevant rather than endless shots of Big Sur, etc.
I've also chucked in a couple to prove how I managed to ruin your lovely pans. I became obsessed by cooking over the campfires and started to write my own little campfire cookbook.
You'll also notice that we managed to decorate Taos quite well. Someone was horrified thinking that I had painted on the back of it, but it was just a sticker that I made sure was removed before we gave Taos back!

Anyway, I hope you like the photos. I might have to send these through in two batches. Hope you enjoy...

Leigh & Dave's SAVE THE DATE Photo Shoot

Hey Bill,

Thanks so much for letting us borrow one of your VW's  earlier this summer. I wanted to send you a link of our pictures that were put online. Feel free to make a comment and mention where we rented the bus. Thanks so much!
